SaaS Design

Finsure

Finsure is Australia's fastest growing broking group. During my tenure, I worked on their Fintech CRM platform

As the sole UX/UI designer at Finsure, I lead all interface design related to the CRM platform. Though I am limited in what I am able to share, I have outlined some key responsibilities and learnings below.

My Responsibilities

Please get in touch with me if you'd like to know more about projects I've worked on!

Design System

I designed and maintained a flexible design system to be used alongside the current version as well as future versions of the CRM platform.

Features and Updates

I designed and collaborated on end-to-end development of several major features in the CRM platform.

Platform Auditing and Maintenance

Alongside major projects, I was regularly required to create solutions for broker requests and tickets

End-to-End Testing

I went through regular end-to-end testing across the entire platform to ensure a smooth deployment.

Stakeholder Collaboration

I held meetings and workshops with major company stakeholders, as well as with members of my own team to understand business neds and requirements.

Business Communication and Collateral

I kept the business informed on all updates made through visually informative packs.

During my time at Finsure

(May 2022 - present)

What I learnt

Sometimes, a familiar interface is better than a perfect interface

Learning to design alongside and update a relatively dated system design-wise that serviced 3,000+ brokers perfectly well was a valuable and humbling experience.

It's important to get to the point

Particularly in the context of communicating new features to the business quickly, clear and concise diagrams help more than pretty words and elaborate descriptions.

Don't assume developers can read your mind

I found the need to be tighter with my scenarios and design briefs so my designs could be more accurately translated to code with less questions. I also learnt to consider the perspective of frontend/backend developers on areas such as performance, API calls, etc.

Control your system before it controls you

As I found my design files and system begin to grow out of control, I adopted better labelling and documentation to allow me to navigate through my files and design decisions better.
