SaaS Design
Infynity is a mortgage aggregation platform run by Finsure, Australia's fastest growing broking groups.
As the sole UX/UI designer at Finsure, I lead all interface design related to Infynity. Though I am limited in what I am able to share, I have outlined some key responsibilities and learnings below.
Design System
I designed and maintained a flexible design system to be used alongside the current version as well as future versions of Infynity.
Features and Updates
I designed and collaborated on end-to-end development of several major features in Infynity.
Platform Auditing and Maintenance
Alongside major projects, I was regularly required to create solutions for broker requests and tickets
End-to-End Testing
I went through regular end-to-end testing across the entire platform to ensure a smooth deployment.
Stakeholder Collaboration
I held meetings and workshops with major company stakeholders, as well as with members of my own team to understand business neds and requirements.
Business Communication and Collateral
I kept the business informed on all updates made through visually informative packs.
Please get in touch if you would like to know more about these projects!
DESIGN SYSTEM
I designed a new design system to be implemented into Infynity, from principles to components to uplifted screens and user flows.
NEW FEATURE
I uplifted the Serviceability Calculator, a major tool that helps brokers investigate suitable lenders for their clients.
NEW FEATURE
I collaborated with key stakeholders on CommissionNow, a new feature that helps brokers receive their commissions faster.
(May 2022 - present)
Finsure's loan book reached $100b
Finsure's broker base grew by 19% over 2023
Sometimes, a familiar interface is better than a perfect interface
Learning to design alongside and update a relatively dated system design-wise that serviced 3,000+ brokers perfectly well was a valuable and humbling experience.
It's important to get to the point
Particularly in the context of communicating new features to the business quickly, clear and concise diagrams help more than pretty words and elaborate descriptions.
Don't assume developers can read your mind
I found the need to be tighter with my scenarios and design briefs so my designs could be more accurately translated to code with less questions. I also learnt to consider the perspective of frontend/backend developers on areas such as performance, API calls, etc.
Control your system before it controls you
As I found my design files and system begin to grow out of control, I adopted better labelling and documentation to allow me to navigate through my files and design decisions better.
